What’s New – Delicious Valentine Day Chocolate Recipes.

I have been busy pulling together recipes for a chocolate valentines that everyone can make. They are really just variations of my chocolate recipes that you are already familiar with. I have put them all together at this link - Valentine Day Chocolate.

Valentines Day is so commercial now that the personal touch has been lost. So why not bake your chocolate valentine gift this year. It doesn't take much effort, afterall a valentines chocolate cake is just a normal chocolate cake that is baked in a heart shape - easy! And your effort will not only be impressive but appreciated. Even a secret valentine will appreciate a homemade chocolate treat.

New Chocolate Shop Online

I just had to share my excitment. I have had such a wonderful response to my page filled with chocolate quotes that I had to share them with you in a more tangible way.

So now I have my very own CHOCOLATE GIFT SHOP! You can find a range of CHOCOLATE T-SHIRTS, CHOCOLATE MUGS, CHOCOLATE APRONS, CHOCOLATE JOURNALS AND CHOCOLATE TOTE BAGS it's all a bit of fun and they all make wonderful chocolate gifts with the added bonus that they are calorie free!

I will be expanding the range in the next couple of weeks and have to send a big THANKS to Adam my wonderful brother who has been helping me with the graphics - I could not have done it without him.

You can find the complete range in my chocolate shop online.

Subscribers only recipe – The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie.

This Ultimate Chocolate chip cookie is perfect to make for your valentine. Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies and this is pretty spectacular.

It is just my chocolate chip cookie recipe baked in a heart shaped tin. Simple. To give you some idea of its size my recipe usually makes 40 cookies tis version makes 2! The heart shape tin I used measures 18cm (7") from bottom to top.

Ingredients

125g butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bi-carb soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl add the butter, sugar, baking powder, bi-carb soda and vanilla extract.
  2. On low speed beat until combined. Scrape the sides of the bowl down.
  3. Beat in the egg until combined and scrape down.
  4. Add the flour and chocolate chips and mix on low speed until just combined.
  5. Divide the mix in half. Take one half and press into a heart shaped tin that has been lightly sprayed with non-stick baking spray and the base lined with non-stick baking paper.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven set to 160oC (325oF) for 20-22 minutes. The cookies are ready when they are a light golden colour.
  7. Remove from the oven and leave to cool on the baking tray for 10 minutes then transfer to a cooling wire.
  8. Bake the other half of the cookie dough in the same way.
  9. Store in an airtight container for one week. The cookies can be frozen for up to two months.

Wrap a red ribbon around your chocolate chip cookie heart and add a card and your valentines chocolate gift is ready.

This cookie can be chocolate dipped or have a "I LOVE YOU" message piped on it - I will leave it up to your imagination.

I hope you have been inspired by this valentine chocolate recipe. For a Double Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe you can use to make your cookie heart click here.
